Star Spangled Banner
(grade 2 - 3)
PRICE: $25
BUY IT NOW!
For four alto saxes, one tenor, and one baritone sax.
If you believe that our national anthem can be set in a number of ways
while still being respectful of the song and its significance, then
check out this arrangement. It features dissonant, compelling harmonies
(reminscent, to me, at least, of Copland or Stravinsky) which are
intended to add to, rather than detract from, the song's message.
Warning: these are very young players, and their intonation reflects
that. Please use your imagination.

Bugle Call Suite
(grade 3 - 3.5)
DURATION: 5:15
PRICE: $55 (specify version, and brass or saxes)
BUY IT NOW!
The Bugle Call Suite consists of settings of a number
of familiar bugle calls, harmonized and realized, as well as a setting
of a beautiful campfire song. Together, they bring back memories of my
years at summer camps. The piece is currently availablie in three
orchestrations: two for brass and percussion, and one for saxes and
percussion. Specific instrumentations are listed below.
There are some glitches in this (MIDI) recording, for
which I apologize: a couple of measures are omitted, and some notes are
cut off. The percussion is also mostly missing. But it will serve to
give you the gist of the piece until I have time to post a better
recording.

Berwick Doodle
(grade 3ish)
DURATION: 1:28
PRICE: $35
BUY IT NOW!
Berwick Doodle is scored for two flutes, oboe,
clarinet, and alto, tenor, and bari sax. I wrote it for the advanced
students in Berwick, Maine's Noble Junior High School. It is meant to
challenge, and give each instrument's voice a chance to show through.
It is chamber music for a level that normally plays thicker pieces with
more doubling. The melodies and harmonies were new and compelling to
the students.
The recording is MDI playback, and unfortunately, the
first few notes are cut off.

Non-Stop Boogie
DURATION: 1:57
PRICE: $6
BUY IT NOW!
This highly kinetic piece was written for an equally
kinetic student of mine. It's from the as yet unpublished "Edly Paints
the Ivories Blue (book 2)," and is mostly on the black keys. It's a
blast!
