Improvisation, scary to many classically-trained
players, is introduced gently in Edly Paints the Ivories Blue,
a piano instruction book using the blues as its material. Further
help and ideas are found in the well-loved Edly's Music Theory
for Practical People. In the theory book, all notation examples
are in both treble and bass clefs. Both books are written in
a friendly, breezy, funny style, with tons of whimsical illustrations.
If you want to learn to improvise, the Edly's books are
an enjoyable way to do so! |
